Attendance Verification Policy

Faculty are required to complete the attendance verification at the beginning of each semester and must report any student who does not attend their class as non-attending during the registrar's attendance verification in Banner. This step is not optional and must be done accurately as it can impact a student's financial aid and academic 记录. Note that removing a student from the class list in D2L does not remove them officially from the course - this must be done in Banner via the non-attendance drop 过程. The due date and process for the attendance verification will be sent by the Registrar at the beginning of each semester.

The criteria for a student being considered as attending a class depends on the modality of the class and is defined as follows:

1. 1. 1. Attendance verification for face-to-face classes:
         Attendance verification for face-to-face classes means that a student has attended at least one scheduled class session and has completed a quiz in D2L over the material in the course syllabus by 11:59 p.m. the day before the attendance verification date.
      2. Attendance verification for synchronous online classes:
         Attendance verification for synchronous online classes means that a student has attended at least one scheduled class session and has completed a quiz in D2L over the material in the course syllabus by 11:59 p.m. the day before the attendance verification date.
      3. Attendance verification for asynchronous online classes:
         Attendance verification for asynchronous online classes means that a student has logged into the course webpage in D2L and has completed a quiz in D2L over the material in the course syllabus by 11:59 p.m. the day before the attendance verification date.

The required syllabus quiz on D2L cannot stipulate a minimum grade for the student to remain in class; the quiz grade will not figure into the final course grade.

A verified medical excuse and military service are the only exceptions for compliance 有了政策.
